National Action Plan for Quality Assurance Development in the Czech Republic
International Engagement and Memberships
Through memberships in international associations for quality assurance in higher education, NAB demonstrates its goal to align with European standards and guidelines as well as other internationally accepted norms.
NAB is actively engaged in international associations through both membership and participation. NAB's representatives take on roles in executive committees, attend general assemblies, and contribute to working groups focused on critical issues in quality assurance. This involvement ensures that NAB stays informed about the latest developments and best practices in the field.
NAB plays a significant role in organizing and participating in international events, consultations, and conferences. These activities enable NAB to stay current with evolving trends and guidelines of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).
Memberships and Participation:
European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) – Affiliate:
NAB holds affiliate status in ENQA, a key player in the European quality assurance landscape. ENQA works to promote European cooperation in the field of quality assurance in higher education, ensuring that the processes are transparent, coherent, and efficient. By participating in ENQA’s activities, we remain at the forefront of developments in European higher education quality standards and contribute to the broader European Higher Education Area (EHEA).
Central and Eastern European Network of Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (CEENQA) – Full Member:
NAB is a full member of CEENQA, a regional network that brings together quality assurance agencies from Central and Eastern Europe and beyond. CEENQA aims to promote cooperation and share expertise among its members, focusing on the development of quality assurance processes that are compatible with European standards. Through our active participation in CEENQA, we contribute to the ongoing dialogue on quality enhancement and accreditation practices in the region.
International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE) – Full Member:
As a full member of INQAAHE, NAB is part of a global network that includes over 300 quality assurance organizations from more than 130 countries. INQAAHE serves as a platform for sharing global experiences, research, and developments in quality assurance. Our involvement in INQAAHE allows us to stay connected with the latest global trends and innovations, ensuring that our processes are aligned with international best practices.
V4QA Forum:
The V4 Quality Assurance Forum, consisting of the Visegrad Group countries (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia), provides a platform for cooperation in quality assurance in higher education. NAB’s involvement in the V4 Forum enables us to collaborate with neighboring countries on quality assurance initiatives, share insights, and develop region-specific strategies that enhance higher education quality.
Bologna Implementation Coordination Group (BICG):
The Bologna Process is a key initiative aimed at harmonizing higher education systems across Europe, creating a more cohesive EHEA. NAB actively participates in the BICG´s Thematic Peer Group C on Quality Assurance, contributing to the ongoing development and implementation of the Bologna Process in this area. This involvement ensures that our accreditation practices support the goals of the Bologna Process, including the recognition of qualifications and the promotion of student mobility.
National Committee on Foreign Medical Education and Accreditation (NCFMEA):
The Czech Republic has been deemed compatible with NCFMEA´s guidelines. This status contitutes a precondition for eligibility of General Medicine degree programs at Czech medical schools for the William D. Ford Federal Direct Student Loan Program. Through this program, U.S. students of General Medicine have access to federal financial aid for their studies at Czech medical schools.
